okay so I finally decided to get a chicken. I was thinking getting two would be better so they’re not alone. I live in texas so it gets hot so what breed would be better with the heat? Which breeds are less likely to try and fly? Would they be okay in a pen with rabbits? I have a very large fenced spot with a 5 foot high fence that I keep all of my pet rabbits in and they love it and I think a chicken would have a nice live there also. I have a rabbit hutch with a nest box and a ramp to get into it. Would that be a okay place for them to lay eggs? What is the best food to feed them as chicks and then as adults? I have not had any problems with predators getting to my rabbits so I don’t think there would be any harm towards the chickens either. I have a lot of shaded spots and water supply out there.. I have never owned a chicken before but have family that has. I did own ducks before but I do not know how similar they’re to each other.
